En el siguiente artículo realizaré un análisis de las relaciones entre la filosofía de la historia de Nietzsche y el papel que se otorga a la memoria en el cine posmoderno, prestando especial atención a la película Memento (Christopher Nolan, 2000). Para ello me basaré principalmente en la II Intempestiva Sobre la utilidad y el perjuicio de la historia para la vida del pensador alemán, aunque recurriré también a otros textos como Sobre verdad y mentira en sentido extramoral. Bajo este marco analizaré la relación de Lenny, el protagonista del film, con su pasado, recordado sólo parcialmente y constantemente remodelado de forma consciente por el propio sujeto para afrontar su vida en el presente del único modo que le puede convertir en un superviviente a su desgraciada situación.

The following article will analyze the relationship between the Nietzsche's philosophy of history and the role given to memory in postmodern cinema, paying particular attention to the movie Memento (Christopher Nolan, 2000). To do this I will rely mainly on the second of Nietzsche’s Untimely Meditations, On the Use and Abuse of History for Life, also calling upon other texts such as On Truth and Lies in a Nonmoral Sense. Under this framework I will analyze the relationship of Lenny, the protagonist of the film, with his past, partially reminded and constantly restructured in a concious way by the character himself to face his present life in the only way he can become a survivor in his unfortunate situation.
